Wellbeing and Engagement

Heather McClure

As term 3 draws to a close, I am feeling a little weary. I am however buoyed by the longer days and the smell of spring that is filling the air, even though that means my hayfever is starting to bite.

The term feels like it's been a long one, the thick of winter really started to bite. It was a blessing to have some nice days recently and feel the warmth of the sunshine on our faces.

During the term we have focused on staff wellbeing. This has included dedicated time to come together and connect with each other including staff dinners, wellbeing focused activities and staff appreciation week. During staff appreciation week we saw staff looking out for each other whether it was covering another staff members yard duty, shouting them a coffee or a random note of appreciation on another staff members desk. This coming Friday we have Tim’s Toasties visiting the school and cooking lunch for the staff.

In the coming weeks, as the weather continues to improve * hopefully* we will be encouraging our community to engage in their physical and mental health through connecting with each other through exercise. A number of staff are participating in ‘Step-tember’ and challenging each other with their daily step counts.

The Parent Opinion Survey is still open! The department of education has extended the survey dates. We are seeking your feedback- please follow the links previously sent via text and compass to complete the survey. It doesn’t take long and is a good excuse to make a cuppa and put your feet up!

Over the upcoming holiday break, I encourage students to check their summer uniforms for size. It is a good time to purchase new uniform with many upcoming sales. Alternatively, please reach out to the front office to discuss possible items for sale through our second hand uniform shop.

Goodluck to all of our students and community participating in local football and netball finals this weekend!

Hope our students and college community enjoy the two week school holiday period and I look forward to hearing all of the holiday news upon our return.
