Preps
Term 3 is upon us and what a busy term we have ahead!
This term the Preps have been looking forward to Fridays as they know that’s their ‘Buddy’ day. They are very excited to work with their Grade 5/6 friends. They have had heaps of fun playing games, learning lots about the Olympics and making fun crafts.
The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program is something the Preps have been looking forward to doing this term. They are loving cooking in the kitchen and enjoy all the responsibilities that come it, including the washing up! Prep N cook on Wednesdays and Prep A have their turn on Thursdays, with both sessions starting at 12pm. We are still in need of parent helpers so if you would like to participate, please let the office know. The support would be greatly appreciated.
Over the past few weeks in writing the Preps have been learning how to write a procedure. Students can now recognise all four components of a procedure: the title, what we need, steps and pictures. They are working on writing the what we need and steps components at the moment.
We have been learning all about Australian money in maths so far this term. The Preps have been learning about dollars and cents looking at both coins and notes. Students have used hands on materials such as play money, to demonstrate their learning.
We have our Prep 100 days of school coming up with a special assembly at 9.10am on Monday 5th August.
