Grade Four
We can’t believe the term has already come to an end! The students have been busy all term and they are looking forward to a well-earned break.
This term our Integrated theme has been the concept of ‘Change’, where students have been looking at what has stayed the same and what things have changed over the years. The students have been focusing on World Explorers and investigating how this has led to the world we have today.
Students researched an explorer of their choice, looking at their journey and the artefacts from that time period to gain a further understanding of what the world may have looked like during that time. During English lessons, students gathered this information to then write a diary entry from the perspective of their explorer outlining a significant event.
Students explored the concept of maps and location in Maths and got to apply this learning to mapping the journey of their chosen explorers. We had the opportunity to venture into the city and visit the Polly Woodside which gave us all a great insight into how our explorers may have felt when travelling the seas.
We are looking forward to our World Explorer Day next week to showcase all of our learning.
