KORIN GAMADJI INSTITUTE (KGI)

FIRST NATIONS EDUCATION AND CULTURE

Gypsy Quaife (Year 8) recently had the opportunity to participate in a day camp with the Korin Gamadji Institute (KGI), the First Nations education and culture arm of the Richmond Football Club. KGI have been delivering Indigenous-led youth leadership programs since 2011.

The program explores:

•            Being an Indigenous leader within your school

•            Growing your identity through community connections

•            The importance of sleep and good nutrition on wellbeing

•            KGI games and team-building sports

An important part of this program is connecting with other young Indigenous mob and having heaps of fun. Gypsy had an amazing time, enjoyed the activities and was rapt to be involved.
