Process for Awarding an 'N' Grade
Students and staff are reminded that the following process must be followed when awarding an ‘N' grade for a study:
Students are to be first issued with:
- ‘Notification to parents of students at risk of receiving an ‘N’ grade’ (General issues such as attendance, work habits, other)
The student will then be awarded ‘N’ grade.
- Notification will be via ‘Final Notification of a Not Satisfactory Result for a VCE study’.
Right of Appeal
Students given an ‘N’ for an Outcome and/or Unit for:
• failing to meet a college deadline
• failing to meet a deadline after an extension of time
• failure to satisfactorily meet the assessment criteria
• failing to meet the College attendance requirements.
Students have the right of appeal to the Senior School Leader. If students wish to appeal to the Review Panel they should do so in writing and submit the application to the Senior Sub School Leader no later than 3 working days after receiving the ‘Final’ Notification of a Not Satisfactory Result for a VCE Study.
The review panel will meet within 5 working days of receiving appeal notification from the student.
Review panel will include:
- Senior School Leader
- Student Manager
- Subject Teacher
