Coins for Compost Competition
Wales Street has a new member of the community:
Our Sustainability group and our new Green Cone Composter
Our Green Cone Composter’s face conceived and created by Jack Rayner of 4D.
This is our new Green Cone solar composter bin and it needs a name! If your child would like to be the lucky one to name it, please leave their suggestion, name and class on a piece of paper in the ‘Coins for compost’ box at the school office along with $1 entry fee. The Wales Street Sustainability Group students will choose the best entry and the winner will be announced at our Week 6 Assembly.
Any money raised by this competition will go towards another Green cone solar composter which means even less green waste going to landfill and even more nutrients for our school garden!
Green cone solar composters recycle any food waste (inc. meat, fish, bones, fruit, dairy), into nutrients that enrich the surrounding soil. Utilising an in-ground chamber and twin cone system to circulate warm air between the two cones, they create the perfect environment for worms and micro-organisms to work their magic speedily.
Nude food
