Acting Principal's Message
Thank you St Andrew's Community!
Congratulations to our students who competed in District Athletics on 15th October!
We are so proud of the effort and time they put into preparing for this event and of the way they represented St Andrew's. Well done!
A HUGE congratulations to Darwell who has progressed to the next round in shotput AND discus, setting a record in discus with his throw of 26.58m. He will be going to Southern Metro Region Athletics on 21st October.
It has been decided to postpone this Saturday's Working Bee due to the limited numbers and the high chance of rain on Saturday morning. We will let you know the new date as soon as possible!
As you will be aware, Allison McKenzie resigned from her position as Wellbeing and Diversity Leader on the 10th of October. This has meant we do not have a Wellbeing and Diversity Leader for Term 4.
After much consideration and support from the staff at MACS, we have appointed Holly Capomolla to the role from Monday 21st October. Milena Santoro, who currently works in Prep C on a Friday, will commence working in Prep C fulltime from this date. Holly will remain working in the Prep C classroom to continue to support them but she will also be supporting the wider school community in her new roles. Prep C parents have received a letter with further details in regards to the staffing change in their bags today.
We thank Holly for taking on this new role, and also Milena for her willingness to step up to full time work to support our beautiful preps and their families for the remainder of the year.
Today, Emma Strom and I, along with the 2024 senior teachers, Year 5 students and Year 4 students, had the privilege of listening to the amazing speeches from our future leaders for School Captain here at St Andrew's. We were amazed by the high quality of preparation students put into these speeches. Congratulations to every single student who had a go at aspiring to be the 2025 School Captain! You were all amazing- what a difficult decision there is to make!
After the fantastic Colour Fun organised by our terrific P & F, at the end of Term 3, the classes that raised the most money and will be our Pizza lunch winners are:
Thanks to everyone for raising so much money to support our PE Program, Miss Puetz is really excited! We look forward to the pizza lunches we will have together!
Congratulations to the following young adults who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Friday 18th October.

Parent Requests - Meeting with Leadership
We are aware that some parents may have valid reasons to have input into the placement of their children for the forthcoming year. Should there be numerous requests from parents, then the ability of staff to make positive and professional judgements for the best learning environments for our classes is compromised. Given this, if parents have any relevant information that you believe is essential to the grade placement process, I invite you to contact Nicole Black (nblack@saclaytonsth.catholic.edu.au) or Emma Strom (estrom@saclaytonsth.catholic.edu.au) to share your thoughts for the 2025 year. Appointments with Nicole or Emma can also be made through the school office.
Should we need to gain greater clarity on the request as made, we will contact you to make an appointment to share your thoughts or concerns. Parents are requested to either submit a request via email or make an appointment by Friday, October 13th. We will evaluate all requests and make a professional judgement on the placement of the child in question. The final decision rests with the school.
The aim of this competition is to showcase and celebrate our amazing talents! Students will perform in front of the school community.
All parents and extended family members are welcome to attend.
St Andrew’s Got Talent Performance
When: Tuesday 29th October
Where: School Hall
Junior school at 2:15 pm
Senior School at 3:30 pm
Parents need to complete this request form if your child needs medication to be administered at school. The Principal or nominated staff member must approve ongoing and regular administration of medication (over the counter or prescription) by the school.
Please ensure that the medication brought to school is in its original package with original labels.
The Allan Labor Government is making life that little bit easier for families by providing a one-off $400 School Saving Bonus.
Non-government school students who will be in Prep through to Year 12 in 2025, and who are receiving the means-tested Camps, Sports and Excursion Fund (CSEF), are eligible for the School Saving Bonus.
Parents and Carers do not need to apply. The School Saving Bonus will be paid to non-government schools for eligible students from late November 2024.
The $400 School Saving Bonus is available for each child. That means an eligible family with three school-aged children will receive a total of $1,200.
Importantly, the School Saving Bonus is available in addition to the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund.
As we plan ahead for 2025 classes, we ask any families who know that they will not be returning to St. Andrew's in 2025 to inform the school as soon as possible by clicking on the button below and filling in the form or email me at nblack@saclaytonsth.catholic.edu.au
HAVE YOU ENROLLED YOUR CHILD FOR PREP 2025?
If you have a child ready for Prep 2025, we encourage you to please put in an enrolment form as soon as possible. This will help us with organisation purposes. To access an enrolment form:
The 2024 School Calendar is available on the School Website. It can be found mid-way down on the front page under the heading ‘WHAT’S ON’. We will endeavour, where possible, to remain true to the dates on the 2024 calendar. We recommend that parents regularly visit the school website to see updates on all school events.
