REMEMBRANCE DAY

Yesterday was 11th of November – the day we remember all those who have served in the Armed Forces. On the 11th of November, 1918, four years of brutal conflict ended. Almost 62,000 Australians died fighting for our freedom and in service of our nation.

We gathered as a community and as a school to remember with thanksgiving those who made the supreme sacrifice for us in times of war and to think about, pray for and discover ways that we can spread peace.

During our services, we particularly remembered their sacrifices for the sake of peace, and pause to honour them in reflection and prayer.

Our school community held a special Remembrance Day Liturgy in our ANZAC garden.

I had the privilege of attending our Boggabri Community Service with our school Leaders, Grace Groves and Emily Valks. They represented our school with great pride, respect and reverence. Thank you ladies!

Lord, many people have served in our Armed Forces to help make the world a more peaceful place. We lift them up to you – those who have died and those still with us. May our prayer today help bring them and their loved ones comfort, peace and hope.

We make this prayer to You in the name of Jesus, the Lord.
