3/4 Camp

Last Monday the 14t,h of October, 88 Grade 3 and 4 students departed with great anticipation and excitement to ‘ The Island’ camp in Cowes at Phillip Island for 3 days. Students enjoyed the novelty of sharing a cabin and eating with friends, they participated in adventure activities such as peddle cars, crate building, archery, low ropes, mechanical climbing wall and the giant swing, that tested their resolve and persistence. A beach walk on a beautiful sunny, warm Tuesday morning was delightful, students had a wonderful time building sandcastles, paddling, getting wet and sandy, and a few intrepid walkers walked with teachers out to the pier to spot sea life. Our nights were equally as exciting, on the  Monday night we rugged up warmly to drive out and see the penguins arrive, some of us still shivered but their were lots of squeals of excitement when a penguin was spotted. Tuesday night, students greatly enjoyed gathering up sleeping bags, pillows, doonas and lying in the activity hall to watch Despicable Me. On Wednesday we departed and enjoyed walking around Churchill Island, then it was time for the drive back to Rosanna. Students were happy to get back to families to share camp fun, but sad to leave the camp behind.
