Parents and Friends Committee

Hello Families,

We hope the students have all recovered from Colour Run! What a huge and exciting afternoon. The weather was a bit unpredictable but it didn't stop all our volunteers from setting up an epic obstacle course and getting the BBQ running.

So many volunteers are needed to run an event this size.  Big thankyou to our whole P&F team: Tara Hickman, Tanya Windscheffel, Kate Fiske, Eliza Gould, Debbie West, Mel Brereton, Chelsie Clinton and Jack Goulden.  To the staff: Wendy for all the daily news and answering tonnes of questions, Helen for the daily news and drawing our lucky sliming students and Jenine for all the behind the scenes help.  And to our extra volunteers covering the set up, paint, water, parachute, BBQ and clean up:  Lucy Longstaff, Chelsea O'Toole, Maryanne Wallace, Sharon Goulden, Wes Hickman, Steve Windscheffel, Matt Brereton, Bianca Hook, Kelly Briggs, Colin Prior, Nicole Tate, Georgie Kehayias, Lauren Bremner, Winnie Mackevicius, Mel Connell, Laura Clancy, Lili Reyna, Rachel Hopkins, Claire Cuzzolini, Alanna Monghan, Aleena Brake, Eliana Colimodio, Denielle Beasley, Greg Boyes, Michael Briggs, Jeannine Derum, Sean Hopkins, Asti and Sam Kendrick.

We wouldn't have been able to hold this event without all these amazing volunteers, the students love you for it!

Special mentions go to the Windscheffel family for creating the super impressive noodle obstacle and designing the whole course and to the Fiske family for manning the BBQ on the day.  We also wish to thank Bunnings Croydon for the donation of noodles, Bakers Delight Lilydale for bread donations and the Fiske family, Aldi and Coles for sausage donations.

We also owe a huge thankyou to the teachers who agreed to be slimed all in the name of fun!  The students were super excited, the slime was thick and cold, what could be more entertaining!  Students in the crowd were cheering like crazy.  Thankyou to Craig Bradley, Emily Murcott, Damien Smith, Emma Wright, Veronica Paps, Allie Harrison, Mel Layton, Sam Younes, Emily Foster-Davies and Tim Huntington.  We hope you all know how much joy your brought to the kids.  Congratulations to Seth Galea, Bella Van Zyl, Indiana Beagley, Harrison Windscheffel, Olivia Turpin, Paddy George, Wes Hough (even with his broken arm), Noah Longstaff, Brice Reinhardt and Beau Hobbs.  How lucky you all are to slime the teachers!

And the end result of all this hard work, chaos, excitement, fun and MESS is that we raised over $10,000 for our school from Colour Run and over $1,000 from the BBQ.  What a huge effort from all students, parents and extended families collecting donations, sharing profiles, buying sausages and drinks too.

Final Event for the year - Christmas Carols Night Fun

We are trying something new this year.  This week students will come home with a paper gift bag and we are making our own Xmas Mystery Bag stall. Remember the old fashioned Mystery Jar events, but without the glass! We'd love lots of families to join in, have the children choose what they'd like to go into the bag and return to school.  On Carols night we will sell these bags 'lucky dip style'.  You never know what surprises you might get!  To make it extra exciting our P&F team have sourced some very cool donations, so these will be scattered in some of the bags too.
