Preparations for 2025

Preparations for 2025 are very much underway.

Boarding Transition

Students in Years Eight and Nine have commenced their successful transition to new boarding houses this week.

Years Seven and Eight Orientation 2025

The Orientation program for students coming into Years Seven and Eight in 2025 has commenced.

For those entering the new Junior Boarding House, one-on-one meetings have taken place with families and the Head of Endeavour House, Mrs Nyree Mackenzie.

For those new Year Seven students entering the day school, one-on-one meetings are currently taking place with families and the Head of Transition, Mrs Penni Berryman.

Next Friday 15 November, all new Years Seven and Eight students will take part in the annual Orientation Day with new boarders sleeping over the night before.

We are excited to announce improvements to our pastoral care structure for Year Seven in 2025.  Our strength as a Pre-Kindergarten to Year Twelve school is supporting all students on their educational journey. Year Seven is a key transition point for our existing GSG students and even more significant for new students.  The pastoral care structures will ensure an integrated and supported start to Secondary School for every Year Seven student.

In making the transition to Secondary School, our key focus areas are:

  • Continuity of care
  • Building relationships early
  • Strengthen student relationships across year levels building a strong school culture
  • Ensuring connection to students in the same year level and, for boarding students
  • Alignment with the structure of Junior Boarding
  • A sense of belonging to homeroom and House groups from the start of the year.

Primary School class placements 2025

Planning is underway to allocate students to new classes in 2025.

Students are placed in classes using a range of data points with a firm focus on individual learning profiles inclusive of social and emotional needs.

The Primary School Leadership team uses its expertise to place students. The school does not academically rank students or stream classes.

Student class lists will be finalised and published with school reports on the last day of term.

Building works 2025

In readiness for the 2025 school year, upgrades to Endeavour House, Watami Building, Pratten Centre, Primary School classrooms and the Early Childhood Centre have commenced and will be completed during the summer break.

Works will focus on new floor surfaces, lockers, internal and external paint, furniture and audio/visual equipment.

Laptop devices 2025

The school will commence the roll out of new laptop devices to Year Eleven students in the next fortnight. This process will continue over the next two years for students in other year levels, to ensure all students have the best digital tools for learning.

Go well
