Careers

Nash Kelly has commenced a school-based apprenticeship as a butcher with Victory Meats at Shop 4/20 Tallarook Street, Seymour. Nash has worked casually in recent months and has shown a strong appetite to work hard and to learn about the meat industry. Nash has really enjoyed his time working in the shop and expressed his wish to pursue this opportunity and initially commence his apprenticeship via a school-based apprenticeship. The training will be delivered at the workshop by the training provider, who will work alongside the shop manager to teach the required skills and knowledge of the meat industry.

Isaac Smith is a Year 11 student at Seymour College. Whilst Isaac had enrolled in VET Building, he always had a strong interest in the Fitness Industry. He sourced some work placement at BFT – Body Fit Training in Seymour. When Seymour College was informed that this career pathway was more to his liking, a conversation with Alex Dennis from BFT was arranged to discuss the possibility of a school-based traineeship. Alex could not have been any more helpful in their support to employ Isaac. With the option of experiencing both the BFT fitness session at Wallis Street, together with the Gym environment at Griff Fit in Crawford Street, it was a perfect environment to develop an understanding of the Fitness industry. Isaac will attend work two days a week and school the remaining three days. Wodonga Tafe will provide the training of the Cert III in Fitness as a blend of online session and on-site visits.
