Principal's Report

This week, our Year 12 students will finish their education journey at Seymour College. We wish all our students the best for the future, whether that involves continuing with study at university/TAFE or entering the workforce. I hope that all students walk away from the school proud of their achievements and proud to have been students at Seymour College. Today Derek Rimes and myself attended professional development on Artificial Intelligence in Education. The focus for the day was on:

• defining AI and explaining how it works
• understanding how Generative AI (GenAI) can enhance teaching and learning
• discovering the AI tools currently available, and how we can best use them effectively in the classroom
• understanding the safety and privacy implications of AI, and how to safely incorporate it into our practice at Seymour College.

We look forward to sharing these ideas with the whole College.
