Junior School News

Welcome to the 2025 school year! What a start it has been! Our days have been jam-packed with meeting new classmates, forming friendships, and engaging in lots of amazing new learning.
We could not be more excited for the school year ahead, as we have already seen such incredible kindness, respect, and an eagerness to learn and share.
Prep News
The Preps have enthusiastically settled into their first year of school, showing amazing adaptability and a strong willingness to learn while taking on any challenges with confidence. They have blown us away with their beautiful listening skills and the genuine care they show for one another.
As they have seamlessly adjusted to life at school, they have met their buddies, who will help guide them through the year, participated in the whole-school Kaboom event, and even attended their first assembly and Mass. The Preps have thrived as they transition toward more structure and routine in their day, moving on from their play-based mornings to focusing on letter crafts and patterns in Maths.
In reference to Mr. Collis—they are the best Preppies this year! 😉
Shout out to Miss Maloney, who shone brightly during her first official Mass of the year. How lucky we are to have her!
Year One News
We could not be luckier to have the calm, patient, and caring Miss O'Meara join our Junior School this year. Miss O'Meara has hit the ground running, taking our fast-paced literacy mornings in stride and forming strong, trusting relationships with her students.
The Year Ones have been diving into reading skills, reviewing the digraphs ch, sh, th, and wh, as well as closed syllables.
They have loved identifying and learning all about nouns and verbs and have focused on all things place value in Maths this week.
We could not be more blessed to have these amazing educators, Ms. McKeon and Ms. Levy, as part of our Junior Team!
Year Two
The Year Twos have had a flawless start to the year and have shown amazing dedication as the new leaders of the Junior School. Their caring friendships and support for one another have seen them hit the ground running, already reviewing key reading rules, including open and closed syllables, as well as completing their first ‘No More Marking’ writing piece for the year!
They have also been busy focusing on different types of nouns, including common and proper nouns, as well as exploring sentence types. In Maths, they have been working on place value and building their multiplication fluency.
As their class motto says, they truly are ‘a family,’ which is no doubt due to their efforts and enthusiasm, but also their exceptional teacher, Miss Flynn, who has demonstrated her years of experience in building such an amazing start to the year.
Kaboom Fun
The playground was buzzing with excitement during our annual Kaboom, filled with endless dancing, laughter, cheering, and skill practice.
Each Monday, across the Junior School, we ask for readers to be brought into school to be swapped over and kept for the week, so our amazing reading skills can be practiced and reinforced at home.
