Have you found that Magic Beach Summer?

Welcome back to the library in 2025.  Have you found a magic                                                       beach this Summer?  

That would be a nice place to sit and enjoy a good book! 

Thank you to everyone who has found and returned any overdue book loans from last year.  Please remember to pop any books you've found over the holidays in your child's school bag to find their way back to us.  This will be most appreciated and then those books can be  read and enjoyed by other students too.

Library borrowing days

All our students get the chance to borrow books from our school library each week.  They come to the library with their teacher to do so.  Please send their library bag on their library borrowing day to bring the books home in, and remember to return the books in the library bag back to school after two weeks.  Thank you.

Library days are as follows:

Monday - Foundation, Year 1, Year 2, Year 4 and Year 5.

Thursday - Year 3 and Year 6.

Scholastic Book Club

Our school will be participating in the Book Club again this year.  Your child will receive a brochure twice a term to bring home and have a look through to see if there are any books they or you would like to purchase.  If so, you are welcome to go online to the Scholastic website and order and pay for these books.  If you would like to avoid a delivery fee, you can opt to have the books delivered to school and we will distribute the books to the children in their classes to bring home.  A cut-off date for this type of delivery will be advertised in the newsletter and it usually takes 2-3 weeks after this date for the books to arrive at school.

One of the great things about Book Club is that Scholastic gives back 15% of the book sales to our school as rewards dollars for us to buy new books and resources for our library and classrooms.   So every time you buy a book, our school benefits as well.

Looking through the catalogue together with your child is a great way to gain a sense of what type of books they like to read and can lead to a positive discussion about books. You can also look online at the Scholastic catalogue : https://www.scholastic.com.au/book-club/book-club-parents/

Spare catalogues are always available in the school office foyer if needed.

Issue 1 of the book club has already been sent home and was completed today.  If there are any late orders, please hand them in to the office ASAP before the end of next week.
