Junior School Council

Introducing our 2025 grade 6 Junior School Council leaders who were announced at our first assembly this year and presented with their badges by our School Council President, Mr. Vince Scarfo.

School Captain

Hello, my name is Zamaima and I am in 6B.  I am delighted to be one of your new school captains this year.  I aspire to be a great leader and make sure I am a positive role model.  I am looking forward to leading special events with the JSC team.  Outside of school, I really enjoy playing sports and watching movies, which I know a lot of you can relate to.

School Captain

Hi, my name is Jesse and as one of your school captains, I feel extremely proud to represent students at Mackellar this year.  Wearing the school captain badge means a great deal to me. It's about being dedicated to helping others as a leader. I feel determined to do the best job I can possibly do.

Vice Captain

Hello, my name is Galy and I am in 6A.  I feel very grateful to have been voted to be one of the vice captains for Mackellar Primary School.  This position is a great opportunity for me to be a positive role model for others.  I am looking forward to leading events and any special activities during the year.  I am also prepared to face the challenge of public speaking.

Vice Captain

Hi, I'm Domenik and I will try to be the best leader that I can be at Mackellar this year so that I can help Mackellar to be an even better school.  I respect others always and I will listen to students' ideas to improve the school.  I love sport and I'd also like to help others in anyway that I can. I will strive to reach high and go beyond expectations.

Blue House Captain

Hi!  I'm LJ and I am your 2025 Blue House Captain.  As a leader, I will dedicate my time to helping others this year, as often as I can, especially in the area of sport.  I hope that kids will ask me for help if they need it, and I can support them or take them to a teacher.  I will check on others to see if they're okay and hope that others will accept me as Blue House Captain.

Red House Captain

Hello!  My name is Felice and I am honoured to be your Red House Captain.  I will work hard to lead Red House to success.  I will also encourage and support each of you, ensuring that every voice is heard and every effort is valued.  We will try to push our limits, celebrate our achievements, and build a strong, united Red House.

Yellow House Captain

Hi!  My name is Muhanad.  I am in 6B and Mackellar's Yellow House Captain for 2025.  I've been inspired by my brother Siddig when he was school captain, and I decided to follow in his footsteps to be part of the school leadership team.  I aim to be a positive role model by living up to the school's values.  I'd love to help younger grades improve on or overcome anything they are struggling with.  Aside from school, I am interested in music, netball and drawing.

Green House Captain

Hi!  My name is Anton and I am in 6B this year.  I am thrilled to be your 2025 Green House Captain as I want to be part of making Mackellar even more empowering for students.  In my role, I will strive to do my best for others and that includes strengthening my personal qualities so that I can represent student voice at our school.

Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will also have an opportunity to apply for JSC positions next week.  They may nominate themselves and prepare a brief speech to present to their class.  A democratic election process follows where students vote for their representative.
