We recently held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and shared the highlights of 2024.
We are pleased to announce that our 2025 Governing Council members are:

Learning Update | |
Pre School | Returning preschoolers from last year and brand new preschoolers who started at the beginning of this term have been getting to know each other and forming new friendships.
We are role playing cooking everywhere, inside and outside, and we're looking forward to exploring the children's ideas more through gardening and supermarket role play.

Early Years - Rooms 6,7 and 8 | The early years began the year by exploring the concept of belonging and building relationships with peers. They have also started reviewing and exploring numbers and numerals while beginning their literacy program.

Primary Years (Rooms 9, 11, 12 | Room 11 - We have had an amazing start to 2025 focusing on activities to set up our learning environment and getting to know each other.The students are enjoying working with their peers in Room 12 during Genius Hour on a Friday afternoon. We also love our visits to the library space in the OSU weekly.
Room 12 - We have built a strong class culture encompassing the school values. The students have enjoyed taking on leadership roles within the school and working with their Room 7 buddies. The 5/6 classes have started our class novel Kensuke’s Kingdom and examining unknown vocabulary in the text.
Room 9: We have started the year with a fantastic start in Room 9. Students have shared information about themselves with others and what adventures they had in the school holidays. In maths, we are learning about place value and, in spelling, its historical significance. We also displaying some amazing artistic skills that we look forward to sharing in the week 6 assembly.

Primary Special Class | Students have settled in well for the start of the new year. We have a small class of only 4 students, we are expecting new students to enter throughout the year. We have enjoyed a visit to the Central Markets for Chinese New Year and enjoyed tasting Chinese food.

Specialists | PE - The students have been learning the Fundamental Movement Skills within the sport focus of Netball. The upper primary years were enthusiastic to learn the netball rules and positions in our mini games last week.

Performing Arts R-3 students have been learning and exploring the drama elements of movement and space through songs and books.
Year 3-6 students have been exploring the drama elements of movement, facial expressions and space through mime.

Japanese - Students enjoyed writing goals for Japanese in 2025 and learning about ‘ema’, wooden tablets found at shrines around Japan where people write their wishes and goals for the year. Students also enjoyed learning about the festival of Setsubun, where people dress up as Oni (bad spirits) and throw beans at the oni to drive them away and bring good luck into their lives. They enjoyed making oni masks and learning a new song/dance. Last week students in Years 2-6 started their hiragana unit and students in R/1 will begin to look at hiragana this week.

EALD R-2 The learning focus has been exploring the genre of narrative.
Yr 3-6 The learning focus has been working through the structure of narrative which include sizzling start, orientation, problem construction and resolution in preparation for NAPLAN. | |
