At Parkdale Primary School we want to ensure that every student arrives safely and on time. One of the key ways we achieve this is through our Kiss & Go Zones—designated drop-off areas designed to keep traffic flowing smoothly while prioritizing student safety.
What is a Kiss & Go Zone?
A Kiss & Go Zone is a short-term stopping area where parents or guardians can quickly drop off their children and continue their journey. These zones are not for parking—drivers must remain in their vehicles and move on promptly once their child has safely exited the car.
Why Use the Kiss & Go Zone?
Using the Kiss & Go Zone correctly helps to:
✅ Reduce traffic congestion around the school
✅ Ensure a steady flow of vehicles
✅Create a stress-free start to the school day for everyone
How to Use the Kiss & Go Zone Effectively:
🚗 Be Prepared: Have bags packed and ready so your child can exit the car quickly.
🚗 Stay in Your Car: The driver should remain in the vehicle at all times.
🚗 Move Promptly: Once your child has exited safely, drive forward to keep traffic moving.
🚗 Follow Staff Directions: Our staff and volunteers are there to ensure safety—please follow their guidance.
🚗 Be Patient and Courteous: A little kindness goes a long way in making drop-offs efficient and pleasant for everyone.
🚗 Cars should wait in line to pull through into the Kiss & Go Zone - please do not overtake the line of cars who are waiting and jump the queue into a space at the front/middle of the Kiss & Go area. This makes it very dangerous for cars trying to pull out and for children exiting cars, it also slows down our process of having cars leave the area sequentially. If we have a big space open up at the front we will indicate to cars to pull down into these spaces. Otherwise, please be patient.
We appreciate your cooperation in using the Kiss & Go Zones effectively. By working together, we can create a safe and smooth drop-off experience for all our families. Thank you for your support in making Parkdale Primary School a safe place to learn and grow!
