This past week, Valentine’s Day has reminded us of the love that surrounds us, and how it goes far beyond cards and gifts. At school, we see love in action every day through kindness, care and friendship. Love is found in the smiles, helping hands, and the way we support and encourage one another at St Paul. Our Friendly Kimochi Kotowaza teaches us that Friendly faces create friendly places, and this has certainly been true as our children, teachers and LSOs continue to develop their classroom communities and sense of belonging.
At the heart of all love is God. His love for us is unconditional, never-ending, and most clearly shown through Jesus. Because God loves us so deeply, we are called to share that love with others. Every day, in our classrooms, during playtimes and in our interactions, we have countless opportunities to reflect God’s love. We can do this by including others, showing patience and offering encouragement to one another.
"We love because He first loved us." — 1 John 4:19
As we continue learning and building connections this term, my hope is that we remember that love isn’t just something we feel, it is also something we do. We are so blessed to be part of a school community where God’s love is shared generously through micro-moments of kindness and care, showing love and bringing joy to those around us.
I wonder, how might we show God’s love to someone in our school community today?
