We are now halfway through the term and it has been fantastic to see the dedication and enthusiasm of our students in their learning.
As we approach the second half of the term, students will be engaging in a range of assessments to demonstrate their learning progress. This includes class-based tasks, as well as NAPLAN for Years 3 & 5 students. NAPLAN provides valuable insights into student achievement in literacy and numeracy, and we encourage all students to approach it with a positive mindset. The NAPLAN public demonstration site is a great way for children (and parents) to practise the testing.
At Goondiwindi SS we are very proud of our school uniform and expect all students to wear it with pride, this includes correct hat and school shorts. Jewellery, nail polish and coloured hair ARE NOT a part of our school uniform and are therefore not permitted at school. I would ask parents to speak to their child/ren about waiting until holiday breaks to wear these items. The wearing of these items is a safety risk to students.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our newly elected P&C executive members and thank our outgoing executive. Our P&C plays a vital role in supporting our school.
Additionally, we have recently submitted key strategic documents to the regional office, including the Annual Implementation Plan and Budget. These documents outline our schools' priorities and direction for the year, ensuring we continue to provide high quality education and opportunities for every student.
QParents App
Are you registered for the QParents App?
From the start of Term 3, we will be fully implementing the use of the QParents app for the completion of permission forms and payments for excursions, camps, instrumental music fees etc.
QParents offers a convenient, safe and private app to help parents & caregivers manage important details of their children's education journey while making parents' lives easier.
Once registered with QParents, you will be able to;
- Sign-in securely - All information is always kept private and only visible to those you choose.
- Provide consent - Respond to requests for consent for things like excursions, photos etc.
- Make payments online - Make payments and view all your invoices in one place.
- View academic reports - View and download all report cards.
- Inform attendance - Let the school know about any absences from school.
- See upcoming events - Never miss a date - see all upcoming school events.
- Check timetables - Know what learning is scheduled each day.
- Access enrolment history - See historical enrolment details.
- Update details- Easily update parent and student details such as contact and medical information from wherever you are at any time.
