Co-curricular - Junior Sport Stage 3

As we near the halfway point of the Term 1 Summer season, we are starting to find our groove with the processes around Co-curricular sport. A reminder that all boys and families should be subscribed to the Junior School Fixtures tag and the Junior School Sport tag on the College App that your son(s) are involved in. This is vital in receiving up to date information on training and weekend games.

When attending your fixtures on the weekend, boys are only to be attired in their SPC uniforms. This may also include the College tracksuit if it is cold. No hoodies or outside club gear is to be worn when you arrive at your venues. Students attending an SPC fixture due to injury or for supporting are reminded that it is mandatory to wear their full Supporters Uniform (black polo). Failure to comply with this requirement will result in a lunch detention being issued as the first consequence. Please ensure you are dressed appropriately before attending the event to avoid any inconvenience. Let’s all show our school pride and support for the team by wearing our colours loud and proud. Not a team without a theme!

Additionally, all cheering during SPC fixtures must be positive and focused solely on supporting our own players. Any negative comments or actions directed towards the referees or opposing team will not be tolerated. Let’s create an encouraging and respectful atmosphere, showing pride for our team while upholding the values of good sportsmanship. Remember, our goal is to cheer on SPC in a way that reflects the best of our College values.

The cultural (non-sporting) Co-curricular activities have begun in earnest, with sign-ups being available for Debating, Junior School Justice and Chess. These expressions of interest have now closed and lists for trials are being put together. More details for trials will be made available to the boys through the Daily Announcements. Please be aware that this may involve some time after school and boys will be given advanced notice of these times and dates. It has been great to see such large numbers of boys interested in our cultural activities this year. As with sport, unfortunately we are unable to cater for everyone as there are team limits in competitions and team sizes.

Best of luck to all our teams for Round 3 this weekend. Let’s keep building on our performances each week and continue to support each other.
