When Attending Fixtures

A reminder to all students attending an SPC fixture: it is mandatory to wear the full Supporters’ Uniform. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in a lunch detention being issued as the first consequence. Please ensure you are dressed appropriately before attending the event to avoid any inconvenience. Let’s all show our school pride and support for the team by wearing our colours loud and proud. Not a team without a theme!

Additionally, all cheering during SPC fixtures must be positive and focused solely on supporting our own players. Any negative comments or actions directed towards the referees or opposing team will not be tolerated. Let’s create an encouraging and respectful atmosphere, showing pride for our team while upholding the values of good sportsmanship. Remember, our goal is to cheer on SPC in a way that reflects the best of our school values.

Special Shout Outs

There were a few very special efforts over the weekend that deserve a mention. On Saturday, one of our most dedicated coaches, Ms Saad was very ill and unable to attend her 13 Black fixture, so I asked Jaslyn Shehadie to step in as coach. The hard work and dedication that the 14 Black team have been putting in all season combined with the energy, enthusiasm and coaching experience lead to the 14 Black team having their first win of the season. A fantastic effort from all involved.

Another stand out effort in the Basketball department came when the 13 D team, who were decimated by injury and illness, were going to be one player short. Due to the early communication from parents and coach Ms Tsesmelis, we were able to reach out to two boys who were willing to back up after their own teams’ games, to make an appearance for the 13 D team. A huge thank you to Luca Favetti and Jonah Shehadie for playing two games in an effort that sums up what it means to be a part of the SPC community.

Cricket

Get down to Breen Oval this Saturday for the last game of the regular ISA Season, a win will all but guarantee a first-place finish for the SPC boys. Many members of the team are in Year 12 and have been members of the First XI for quite some time, so any support will be much appreciated. 10:00 AM start!

Best of luck to Mr Allan and the Second XI who travel to Bathurst to take on St Stanislaus’ College this weekend in the last round of the regular season. Also, well done to the Third XI and Mr Chatters who played two games against Knox Grammar over the last fortnight winning one and coming ever so close in the other.

Baseball

Best of luck to the First IX who take on Thornleigh at Oakleigh Baseball Field at 11:00 AM on Saturday.

A Message from the Head of Rugby - Calling all Rugby Players!

SPC Old Boy Michael Ianello from Shield Mouthguards will be holding digital scans here at SPC on Friday 10 March after school. This gives you the opportunity to get the best type of protection without having to visit a dental clinic for a fitting.

You have the choice of any single colour, the cost is $170.00.

As it is provided by a dental professional, private health funds may offer a rebate. If you would like to check with your own personal health fund how much your  specific policy would cover, the item numbers are 014 and 151, the Provider Number is 4114051F.

If you are unable to attend the school fitting, the same deal applies at their Leichhardt Clinic on Marion Street.

If you are interested in participating, please fill out the following form.
