Sport
Another jam-packed term of sporting events and activities the PVCC Calendar has come to an end. We’ve had some great results across all year levels with our weekly EISM Interschool-sport program, while also achieving some great results in our House Cross-Country and EISM Cross-Country Carnivals.
Both our Intermediate and Senior sporting competitions have come to a close for the season. For the term 3 seasons, PVCC managed to make it into 5 different Grand Finals, which is a huge result. Unfortunately, we could only manage 1 victory from those Finals. Congratulations to the Year 8/9 Boys Indoor Soccer A team, for winning their Grand Final.
Regardless of the results, it’s been a fantastic term watching all students participate and “buy-in” to the culture of sport here at PVCC.
The Seniors have officially finished their inter-school sport for the year, but Year 10’s will begin their Dance unit in Term 4, while the Year 11’s have had the option to either sign-up for a 4 week ‘Sport Elective’, or, remain at school for private, supervised study on Wednesday afternoons. All year 8 and 9 students will continue with their Term 4 inter-school sport seasons as normal.
Thankfully, the rain held off this year and our House Cross-Country Carnival was a success. All year levels from 7-12 participated, with some great results in all age groups.
We then took our students who qualified fastest in their age group, to the EISM Carnival, which was held last week on 11 September.
PVCC were in Division 3 this year, where we had our largest number of students medal in their event, for the first time in a number of years. Plenty Valley came 3rd overall in Division 3.
We look forward to what Term 4 will bring to the world of sport at PVCC.
