Author Visits
Two authors visited our school this term in celebration of Book Week. Andrew McDonald, author of Real Pigeons, delivered a captivating presentation to enthusiastic students in Grades 3 & 4.
Picture book author, Andrea Rowe shared a great presentation with our Preps, 1s and 2s, as well as secondary students in years 7 & 8, where she shared lots of writing tips.
Premier's Reading Challenge
Congratulations to students who completed the Premier's Reading Challenge! Over the challenge 1474 books were read (and finished), the Grade 1s finished the most books across the Primary School, reading 446 books. The Prep classes weren't far behind with reading 313 books across the challenge. To go along with Seussical the Musical, Green Eggs and Ham by Dr Seuss was one of the favourite reads! Students who completed the challenge will receive their certificates in Term 4.
Beanstack Reading Challenge
This term, 5/6 students participated in a reading challenge using Beanstack where they logged their reading minutes. Students in Grade 5 logged over 120,000 minutes of reading, with Grade 6s logging almost 40,000 reading minutes. Congratulations and well done to each and every student who prioritised making reading a habit, and hopefully enjoyed some great reads along the way!
Holiday Borrowing
Student from Grade 3 onwards have been given the privilege of being able to borrow books for the holidays. If your child has decided to take books home for the break, please ensure they are ready to be returned during the first week of Term 4. Primary students have been given suggestions for actively stewarding their books by creating a dedicated spot for library books at home, and putting them in their bags once finished so they don't forget to return them.
