Mathematics: Look at different types of graphs at home this week. Can you create a pictograph- which is a graph using pictures or symbols to represent the number of votes or items in the survey.
Reading: Aim to read 15 minutes at home per night.
Inquiry: Compare two materials you can find at home. What is the same and different between the two?

Learning this week:
Writer’s Workshop: We have started this term exploring Information Texts. We are currently creating our books based on our own choice of an expert topic while we learn about the structure and features of Information Texts. We will then choose a material to research and then present facts to the class in the form of an oral presentation.
Mathematics: We will be exploring data collection and graphing this week.
Unit of Inquiry: We will continue our unit of inquiry: Sharing the Planet on Properties. The central idea is: Understanding properties and features allows us to see things more effectively. We will finish the unit of inquiry this week.
Announcements:
Year 2 Camp - is at AFL Max, West Beach, from Tuesday 19th November until Wednesday 20th November. Consent Forms should have been received during week 1.
Please communicate with your child’s teacher if you have any questions about the Camp.
We have now met our required number of adults for camp.
Our Parent Volunteers for Camp are: Shaun Horspool (Jasper, 2/3T), April Demery (Harper 2/3T), Rebecca Andary (Aria 1/2AK) & Paul Rushton (Jack 1/2Z).
Church & School Fete – The School and Church Fete is this Sunday (20th October) from 11:30am – 3pm. If you can make it, the fete is always a great day celebrating the partnership between our school and church, growing our joint image in our community.
Swimming Week – This year 2/3T will be attending Swimming Week as a class in Week 4, along with the other year 3/4 classes. Consent forms and notes to come soon. The dates for this is: Monday 4th November – Thursday 7th November.
Pupil Free Day – Term 4- Please note that Friday Week 5 (15th November) is a Pupil Free Day.
Carols Evening – The annual schools carols evening is slated for Friday Week 7 (29th November). Please save the date, with more information to come.
