GO TEAM JOEY'S!
Good luck to the four students who will be representing our school and the Armidale Diocese this Friday in Newcastle at the NSWCPS Athletics Carnival. Ryder Hird (discus), Hendrix O'Loughlin (Shot Put), Daniella Cortis (100m, Long Jump and Discus) and Ricky Hird (High Jump and Discus). We are very proud of your dedication to your sport and can't wait to hear the results on Friday! Go team Joey's!
Schools across the Armidale Diocese have been invited to nominate teams to enter into the Armidale Diocesan Soccer Gala Day. The day is to be held at Gipps Street Playing Fields in Tamworth on Thursday the 26th of September (week 10, term 3) Students in grades 3 - 6 are welcome to attend. The day will commence at 9:30am and conclude by around 2pm. Teams are mixed boys and girls and we will be aiming to send a Year 3/4 team and Year 5/6 team. I encourage all students to attend as it is a fabulous day of participation and fun! Students will not need extra equipment to participate, they can play in footy boots or joggers and the school can provide shin pads if needed. Students do not need to have played competitive or weekend soccer to play in this day...it is a come and try and have fun playing sport day!
This event will be up on COMPASS this week for you to give permission. There will also be options for transportation. Parents can transport their own child to the event but as always as we will need to call upon parent volunteers to assist with carpooling our students to and from Tamworth for this amazing opportunity.
All information about Diocesan sports events is well communicated on the Armidale Diocesan Primary Sports Council Facebook Page. This includes postponements and event photos. Please ensure you take the time to like this page, so you have access to the most up to date information on Diocesan sports events.
School based sport sessions return to Wednesday's only this term. This means sports uniform will only need to be worn on Wednesdays. Students will build on skills used in net and court games (with a basketball and volleyball focus) such as ball control, game play and game tactics.
