Music
So much happened in the last few weeks of Term 3 in the music department, with plenty of performances already lined up for Term 4.
Nadine’s singing group held a fabulous concert in the band room on the last Thursday of term, with lots of students and staff turning out to support the performers.
Thanks to Nadine for creating this performance opportunity for our students 😊
Tunes on Thursday
Morgan and Rabhin performed their original works at the last Tunes on Thursday, giving the audience a taste of what this talented duo are capable of! Brass Ensemble then took over the stage to perform a few tunes, managing to keep their instruments and stand upright despite the wild weather. Thanks to all the students who performed their contribution to creativity and entertainment at BHS, and to Emma Moffatt for making this event happen! Thanks too to the roadies who regularly assist with set up in Period 4 for this event – Tom, Izaiah and Lucas, with support from a revolving cast of friends.
Jazz Cabaret
The Jazz Cabaret, on Friday 13th, was a magical night, full of great performances by our students, and really inspiring performances by guest artists Michelle, Rob, Michelle, Georgia, Pat and Jimmy. Band Captains Abigail, Heechan, Abbie and Chris ran the event, promoting, decorating, performing and smoothly and professionally MCing throughout the night. This event was a fabulous way for students to use their creative talents to support mental health support services, and the night raised over $1500 for Beyond Blue – Youth.2025 Band Captains – the 2024 Band Captains have set a pretty high standard for you to follow!!
