Year 10

Year 10 Connections Day

On Thursday 19th September, our Year 10’s participated in their Year 10 Connections Day. The purpose of the day was to further develop a sense of connectedness for the cohort, whilst also providing ideas for potential career options and to promote positive wellbeing.

For the morning sessions the students caught buses to Deakin Uni to have a guided tour and explore courses on offer. The students were very attentive and well behaved during the whole time on campus and hopefully gained an insight to some of the careers they may be interested in studying in the future.

Once back at school, the Year 10’s had options of a range of different activities to participate that they could choose from. These included: Cooking, Yoga and Tai Chi, River Bike Ride, 10 Pin Bowling, Barwon Valley Driving Range, Lawn Games, Netball, Football, 3x3 Basketball, HIIT class, and competing in an Art/Photography Competition for the Summit Magazine. The feedback from staff and students was very positive and all activities were participated in with enthusiasm and a good sense of teamwork!

With a pizza lunch also included it was a fantastic way to finish off Term 3 and we hope the students were able to relax over the holiday break and return refreshed for their final Term of Year 10.

The students should be proud of their efforts throughout their Connections Day!

Also a big thank-you to all staff who helped out with running activities. Mr O’Callaghan, Mr Ellis, Ms Godde, Mr Brown and Mr Hebbard.

Year 10 VET Outdoor Rec

Recently some of the year 10 VET Outdoor Rec students enjoyed a beautiful walk from Sheoak Falls to Lorne via Allenvale. Everyone enjoyed the challenge and scenery and made memories that will last a long time.
