NESA Survey about curriculum implementation experience

The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) has commissioned Learning First to survey K–12 educators about their experiences of implementing NSW syllabuses.

The survey is brief, open to NSW teachers, curriculum leaders and principals, and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. This year, the survey has been extended to include questions about Years 11–12 for curriculum leaders and teachers of Stage 6.

The purpose of the survey is to identify what aspects of curriculum implementation are working well and the ways in which NESA could provide schools with additional support. It will inform the support NESA provides for implementation of the new K–12 syllabuses, including support materials and teaching resources.

Please click here to access the survey.

The survey is open until Friday 6 September. The survey is anonymous, and all information collected and analysed by Learning First is held under privacy and confidentiality protocols and is de-identified before it is released to NESA.

We would also like to invite K–12 curriculum leaders and teachers to join a focus group to share their experiences with assessment. The assessment focus groups will be hosted virtually by Learning First and will take about an hour. Participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback and to hear how other teachers and schools approach assessment.

Please click here to register for the assessment focus groups.

This is the fourth year that NSW teachers will be taking part in the Curriculum Implementation survey. Each year provides NESA with more insight into teachers’ experiences and perspectives, particularly with the release of new syllabuses under the Curriculum Reforms, building a better picture of the curriculum support you need.

If you have any questions or concerns about this survey or focus groups, please contact Learning First at curriculum@learningfirst.com.
