Welcome back everyone, our final term of 2024! And a very special one for our grade 6 cohort in particular.
Staffing update: Welcome back to Megan Craig, returning from family leave into a shared role with Claire Paitaridis in 2PC, along with her wellbeing leadership role.
We wish Eliza Bernau all the very best, as she finishes this week to begin her family leave. We welcome Michelle Bonner into the 3/4 Hub.
It has been lovely having numerous former students visiting BBPS this week – some in their final weeks of school! We wish our cohort of 2018 all the very best in their VCE exams in the coming weeks.
A big thank you to Ati (former school captain) and Cerys, who attended a ‘Women in Sport’ breakfast recently, and were given Building Better Body Image resources to donate to their community, and kindly chose BBPS as recipients. This fantastic resource will support our Happy Being Me Body image program, facilitated within the senior program.
Thanks to you all for supporting the numerous fundraising events at school towards the end of last term.
Grade 5/6 donated over $1000 to the Royal Children’s Hospital, an outstanding amount from Market Day!
We raised approximately $500 to support our grade 6 graduation lunch through our sausage sizzle and footy colours day - thanks to all our parent helpers on the bbq.
Grade 6 will begin selling icy poles after school as the days get warmer, stay tuned to Compass for confirmation – and start collecting coins for purchasing.
This term’s big PA events are the Halloween Disco (see PA section of newsletter for details re purchasing tickets for October 25) and Colour Run (details to come later in the term for November). There is no Christmas Carnival this year as it is now a bi-annual event (next taking place in 2025). Stay tuned via the newsletter and cohort What’s App groups for details.
A timely reminder that the school What’s App groups are solely for information about the ins and outs of school events and procedures. If you have any concerns about your child, both learning and social, please speak to your class teacher directly for support.
A particular shout out to our PA members, Pernille and Leah, who tirelessly keep our second hand uniform and lost property stocked and organised. Second Hand Uniform is looking good, great time to go and have a look for summer purchases.
Week 1 was already jam packed with celebrations of learning. Well done to our Merit Award recipients
And to our Division Athletics competitors, for their outstanding participation at last week’s carnival.
