Parent-Teacher Conversations
Thank you for taking the time to meet with your child’s teacher. Our numbers this year have been our best yet as we go from strength to strength as we continue to work in partnership with you to ensure we are meeting the needs of your child.
To support your child's learning and well-being, our leadership team has also met with each teacher to review these conversations. This collaboration allows us to tailor our support and extend opportunities, ensuring that every student can thrive and reach their full potential. We appreciate your continued engagement and look forward to working together to support your child’s success.
Punctuality - A Collaborative Effort
A topic which came up frequently in conversations among our teachers was punctuality. Our school day begins at 8:50 AM, and arriving on time helps ensure that students start their day smoothly and without disruption.
When students arrive after the bell, they may miss important instructions and feel rushed, which can impact their learning and overall well-being. While we understand that occasional delays are inevitable and prefer children to arrive late rather than not at all, we also recognize that even a few minutes of lateness can add up. For instance, being just 10 minutes late each day can accumulate to nearly 1.5 weeks of missed learning over the school year.
We appreciate your support in helping your child arrive on time each day. Your efforts make a significant difference in their educational experience. Thank you for working with us to support your child's success.
Right to Disconnect: Important Legislative Update
I would like to inform you of recent changes to workplace legislation introduced by Fair Work SA, specifically regarding the Right to Disconnect. This new regulation is designed to establish clear boundaries around work-related communications outside of regular working hours. It will have a direct impact on the way and timing of communications between staff and parents.
We have already discussed these implications with our staff and will continue to discuss them in more detail at our upcoming school board meeting. We strongly value your feedback on this important matter. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to share them with us as we work together to adapt to these legislative changes and ensure a balanced, respectful environment for all.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Yours in Love, Peace and Learning,
