Welcome Back to Term 2

We hope all students and families had a relaxing and enjoyable break. We are excited for another busy and productive term ahead, filled with new learning opportunities, activities, and achievements across the school community.

Year 7/8 Respectful Relationships

This term, our Year 7 and 8 students will be participating in the Respectful Relationships Units which provide important educational experiences designed to build knowledge, resilience and valuable life skills. These units encourage students to think critically, work collaboratively, and develop strategies that support their wellbeing and learning both inside and outside the classroom. It is really important that students engage well with these units as they are vital for a productive and healthy life.

Parkour

Our Year 7 students will also be taking part in an exciting Parkour Unit during HPE lessons. This unit focuses on movement skills, coordination, balance, and confidence while encouraging students to challenge themselves in a safe and supportive environment. Students have already shown great enthusiasm and engagement in these sessions. It is great to show students a different side of Physical Education and allow movement to be the focus.

Exams – Year 10/11

As we move further into the term, Year 10 and 11 students are reminded that exams are approaching later this term. It is important that students are consistently studying, revising class content, and asking their teachers as many questions as possible to ensure they feel prepared and confident. Developing strong study habits now will help students achieve their best results. Please remember your teachers are here to assist you, reach out and ask as many questions as possible as this is the key to success!

Formative Assessment

Across HPE classes, staff are continuing to utilise formative assessment strategies to support student learning and engagement. Teaching tools such as mini whiteboards are being used regularly to ensure students are connecting concepts across their studies while also informing teacher practice. These strategies provide valuable feedback opportunities and help teachers tailor lessons to best support student understanding and progress.

In the image pictured left, we see students in Ms Taylah Lloyd’s class connecting concepts across the study design using mini whiteboards.
