Sandhurst Switches Off

Last Wednesday, St Peter's students participated in Sandhurst switches off. The school made a conscious effort to save power and switch off any unnecessary power. Students learnt about how caring for the environment is not only our school value but a responsibility for all.

Pope Francis "Care for the earth, so it can care for you"

Sacrament Information

The preparation for those students who are completing the sacrament of Confirmation and Eucharist will start this Wednesday night at 6:30pm at the St Kilian's church. The sessions will continue each Wednesday night in the month of May.

May we keep those students in our prayers as they prepare to the receive the sacraments.

Sacrament of Baptism

We will be offering baptism as part of our St Peter's Feast Day mass in the last week of term. If you would like to have your child baptised into the Catholic faith,  please See Mr Wilkinson and he will provide you with the details and information to make this happen.

Gospel Reading: John 17:1–11

After Jesus had spoken these words, he looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son so that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all people, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

I glorified you on earth by finishing the work that you gave me to do. So now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had in your presence before the world existed.

I have made your name known to those whom you gave me from the world. They were yours, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything you have given me is from you; for the words that you gave to me I have given to them, and they have received them and truly know that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me.

I am asking on their behalf; I am not asking on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those whom you gave me, because they are yours. All mine are yours, and yours are mine; and I have been glorified in them.

And now I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one.”

Summary

In this passage, Jesus prays to God the Father before his death. He speaks about completing his mission and asks God to protect his followers. The focus is on unity, faith, and the deep relationship between Jesus, God, and believers. It reminds us that knowing God and staying united in love is at the heart of eternal life.

 Reflection Questions

  1. What does it mean to truly “know” God in your daily life?
  2. How can you help build unity and peace within your family, school, or community?

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for sending your Son to show us your love and truth.

Help us to know you more deeply each day and to live in unity with those around us.

Protect us, guide us, and keep us strong in faith.

May we reflect your love in all we do.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
