Our annual Cluster Athletics Carnival is next Friday, and family and friends are invited to come along, help with events and join in the cheering! Students are encouraged to wear their team colours and be warmed up and ready to earn their team valuable points, just by participating! Many thanks to Sheepy, for helping out with marking up the tracks and to those individuals who have offered their support. We are however still needing more volunteers to assist with a variety of tasks, including starting, timing, measuring and cooking our BBQ. The BBQ will help raise important funds for our school. If you can help out for an hour or two between 9:30 am and 2 pm, please let our office know as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing you there!

Also next Friday morning, we will have the pleasure of hosting some members of the Melbourne Football Club's AFLW team. They will spend time with our Prep - 2 students; answering questions, signing autographs and having a kick of the footy with the students. They might even come and have a look at some of the Year 3 - 6s competing in their athletics events (and spot some future champions).
On Monday, students in Years 5/6 had a great day out at Bogong Outdoor School, getting to know their peers from around the cluster, as they participated in a day of activities designed to develop and strengthen the connections between students from our local schools. Our sincere thanks to the team at Bogong Outdoor School for providing our students with this valuable opportunity.

During this week's inter-generational gardening program, students were joined by five members of the community at the Neighbourhood Centre.

Together, they spent an hour getting to know each other as they planted up the new wicking beds with a range of winter vegetables. The older generation were able to share their gardening expertise as they mapped and planted broccoli, coriander, cabbage, leek and lettuce seedlings and radish seeds. We look forward to seeing the vegies grow, and harvesting the produce over the coming weeks and months ahead! If you are interested in being a part of this program, it's not too late. Email or call Alpine Health using the details on the flyer.

Many thanks to Kathryn and the kitchen garden crew who, this week, cooked up a batch of banana and choc chip muffins for everyone to enjoy. They were absolutely delicious!

Thank you also to everyone who bought a muffin, as all funds raised from these bake-ups will go back into gardening resources and the purchase of ingredients for the next cook up. I can't wait to see what will be on the menu!

Yesterday, students had another great experience as they were entertained and engaged in the Musica Viva performance,
On the Wireless. Throughout the performance, students were encouraged to play their part, joining in the radio jingle, providing body percussion, and even learning a little Portuguese language, as we all went on air, for this fun, live music experience.

WE’RE TAKING IT IN OUR STRIDE ON FRIDAY 22 MAY 2026
Walk Safely to School Day asks that we all consider our transport habits and try to incorporate more walking as part of a healthy, active way to get around. And although walking all the way to school isn’t realistic for many of us, it’s quite easy to figure out how you can build a walk into your family’s daily routine. If you have to drive, park the car a few blocks away from the school and walk the rest of the way. Regular exercise like walking with your child not only helps them (and you!) to support better health outcomes, it also gives you a great opportunity to teach your child safe ways to behave around roads and traffic. Remember, Active Kids are Healthy Kids so get planning your own Walk Safely to School Day journey for Friday 22 MAY 2026! For more information, visit www.walk.com.au

This term, our school council fundraising committee is planning a ‘High County Winter Experience’ themed raffle. We are hoping to offer some great prizes from local businesses that appeal to school families and friends within and beyond the local community to extend our fundraising reach. Our Term 2 fundraising efforts will go towards upgrading our fleet of student laptops.
We invite school families to get involved by contributing to our fundraising committee. Please drop past our School Office to find out more.
Alternatively, you may like to partner with a local business to offer a gift voucher in keeping with the Winter Experience theme.
Thank you to Cunningham, Taylor, Gardiner and Travers families for getting the ball rolling with donations towards some great items!
The raffle will run throughout May and be drawn at the start of June, coinciding with the opening of the ski season. Donations gratefully accepted until 30 April 2026.
If you are looking for healthy, fun, social before or after school care options, please drop in and see Jacara and the OSHC team to find out what's on offer.
Next week's OSHC program includes:
