Digital Wellbeing Week

Digital Wellbeing Week takes place from 18–22 May and aligns with Mental Health Awareness Month. Supported by organisations such as Common Sense Media, the initiative encourages students, educators and families to develop healthy and mindful technology habits.

The week focuses on creating a balanced approach to screen use and setting healthy boundaries before the busy mid-year period. Suggested activities and strategies include:

• Tech Habit Challenges – encouraging students and families to reflect on how media and technology influence mood, concentration and overall wellbeing.

• Screen Time Check-Ins – using built-in device tools on phones and tablets to monitor daily screen time and reduce unnecessary scrolling.

• Offline Activities – promoting hobbies, physical activity and meaningful face-to-face time with family and friends without digital distractions.

Parents and educators interested in practical tips or age-appropriate resources are encouraged to explore ways to support positive digital wellbeing habits at home and at school.
