Year 1 News

Reading

This fortnight in Reading, students have been working hard on decoding CVCC words (consonant, vowel, consonant, consonant words). To support this learning, they have been using games, matching activities, partner practice, and hands-on reading tasks to help build confidence and fluency.

Students have also been learning how to infer emotions through text and images by looking carefully for clues. They have been discussing how a character’s facial expressions, body language, actions, and words can help us understand how they might be feeling.
