Congratulations to each student in Grade 6 who is graduating at the end of 2024. Time has really flown, as it just seems like it wasn't that long ago that you were little "preppies". I have no doubt that you all have the potential to achieve great things in your lives - be confident and strive to be the very best you can be. You have so many great experiences ahead of you - make the best of every opportunity.
At the end of the 2024 school year, we farewell Emily Barnett who is taking time to travel the world with her partner and Brady Pritchard who has some interesting opportunities opening that he wishes to pursue. I would also like to thank Alesha Hodgson who kindly offered to teach STEM for the 2024 school year. All have been valuable members of our school community and have contributed a great deal to the students in their care. We sincerely thank these staff members for their contribution to our Rollins community and wish them well as they experience new and exciting adventures.
Membership of a school council is voluntary and relies on parents giving up their own time to support the school community and assist the Leadership group to conduct the school in an efficient and beneficial way for all members of the community. At the end of this year two of our long serving members of the Rollins School Council will be retiring, as they no longer have children attending the school- Erin McGill and Kristi Washington. Both these members over the period of their membership have held important positions. Kristi has assisted the school as a Financial Officer overseeing the accounts and distribution of funds at our school. Kristi, many thanks for your support in this matter and for your valuable contribution over many years.
To Erin McGill, our School Council President, a massive thank you for everything you have done for the Rollins Community. Over many years Erin has been instrumental in organising numerous fund-raising events and community functions. Her role has gone well beyond School Council membership. Through her efforts the Rollins, students and staff have been able to access numerous resources to enhance their education. This would not have been possible without such a dedicated and enthusiastic effort. The next School Council President has big shoes to fill!
To all the other members of our School Council many thanks for your support this year. I hope the Rollins community realise that your contribution to the way our community operates is so vitally important. I thank each of you for giving up your personal and family time to support the Rollins staff students and parents. The efforts in attending meetings, organising and running fundraising events and providing advice to our Leadership and staff have assisted greatly in developing and maintaining the intense positive culture at Rollins.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Rollins community for their support during 2024. We have achieved so much this year as a community and are looking forward to 2025 with a great deal of hope.
For those over the Christmas period who are experiencing difficult times, or know someone who is, please reach out and get the help and support you need. Know that you are not alone and are worthy of kindness and a helping hand.
Again, thank you so much for your support and enjoy the term break.
