New Playground Completed!
Our new infants/primary playground is non-officially open (just waiting for the fencing to be removed)! Students are thrilled with the spider rope, climbing frames, slide, and the thick layer of mulch to keep them as safe as possible. Students are also eagerly awaiting the final work on the brand-new Ninja Warrior obstacle course, which they will experience for the first time hopefully next week. Any town would be excited to have this equipment in their community park, but our incredibly lucky students have it in their school playground to play on daily. It is already a huge hit and is sure to bring great joy and physical challenges for years to come.
End-of-Year Events
As we approach the end of the school year, we are excited to offer a variety of events for students to enjoy. Starting in Week 9, both primary and secondary students will celebrate their academic achievements with their termly merit events and the anticipated Superb excursion to FlipOut in Canberra for those students who have reached the highest level in the Merit Scheme. Secondary students can also look forward to a Trivia Afternoon, an Amazing Race event, and for the whole school a PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) celebration.
We appreciate your understanding regarding the increased communication through Compass about routine changes as there have been many in the past fortnight. These events are a fantastic way to celebrate our students' positive efforts and achievements.
Kindergarten and Year 6 Transitions
Kindergarten transition programs have concluded, with future Kindy students eagerly looking forward to joining the "big school" in 2025. Today, Year 6 students wrapped up their high school transition days and gained opportunities to meet the staff who will support them through the challenges and highlights of their first year of high school. The students were introduced to Mr James McDonald who is the Year 7 Advisor for 2025. Mr McDonald will be a key support in helping students build a strong foundation for their first year, ensuring they feel supported, connected, and ready to manage the many ‘ups’ and ‘downs’ they will face in Year 7.
Presentation Night – Celebrating 2024
Join us next Thursday for our annual Presentation Night, where we will celebrate the academic, cultural, sporting, and behavioural achievements of our students in 2024. The evening will begin with a BBQ at 5:00 PM, with seating to commence from 5:45 PM for a 6:00 PM start. Please RSVP for the BBQ by contacting the office. We look forward to celebrating a successful year with our school community.
Final P & C Meeting for the year.
I attended the P&C final meeting for the year and want to extend my gratitude and thanks to the hard-working team who dedicate themselves to improving our school for the benefit of our students. Their commitment is evident as they are already planning initiatives for 2025. On behalf of the school, I wish them a wonderful and safe Christmas.
Volunteers Morning Tea
Our Volunteers Morning Tea will be held next Friday, 13 December. This event is our opportunity to express our appreciation to the parents, students, grandparents, and community members who have generously supported the school in various ways to benefit our students. Your contributions are hugely appreciated, and we look forward to celebrating with you!
