Here we are, at the end of the 2024 year. We would like to extend a very big thank you to the adult community who have supported the HEPS students through out the year. This includes teachers, education support, school council, PA, and all of the volunteers who have assisted with classroom reading, excursions, athletics days, working bees, BBQs etc. Working together makes HEPS a special place for the children.
Friday 20th December is the last day for students. We will conclude the year with a short assembly at the front of the school. We will wave goodbye to our year 6 students and dismiss the whole school at 1:30pm. If you are needing care for your children after this time I encourage you to book into TeamKids.
We will be saying goodbye to some of our school staff at this time too. We thank these teachers for their care and attention to providing the best for the students. Goodbye to Lisa Scotti, Nick Pagliaro, Rebekah Kelly, Kristy Chua and Brian Reeves. We also wish John Exton a temporary goodbye as he begins 6 months of long service leave.
We’re excited to let you know that student reports will be published on Compass at 4.00 PM today. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge your child’s achievements and hard work over the past year!
On Tuesday, we celebrated a truly memorable Level 6 Graduation Ceremony. The evening was filled with excitement and anticipation as we recognised the achievements of our graduating students. While it was a joyous celebration of their journey, there was also a touch of sadness as we said farewell to this exceptional group of young leaders. Congratulations once again to all our Level 6 students, and we wish you all the very best in your exciting journey ahead!
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Level 6 teachers and the Graduation Parent Group for their outstanding efforts in organising such a wonderful event.
At Monday’s assembly, we also took the opportunity to honour some of our Level 6 students with special awards.
Congratulations to the following students who received awards for 2024:
We would like to acknowledge and thank our 2024 school captains Aritha A & Maisie S for their leadership and dedication. As they pass the baton to our new 2025 school captains, Holly H and Lucy R, we look forward to seeing these new leaders guide our school community with pride and enthusiasm.
Congratulations to the students below for their success in achieving a 2025 leadership positions.
The HEPS Christmas Concert was a joyous celebration before the commencement of the holidays, showcasing the incredible talent of our students as they sang Christmas carols with passion and enthusiasm. A heartfelt thank you to Emma for her outstanding efforts as PA on the night and to our dedicated Parent Association for organising yet another memorable event. We also appreciate the parents and staff who generously volunteered their time to help make the evening a success. Finally, thank you to all the parents and community members who joined us to share in the festive spirit—your support made the night truly special!
We would like to remind everyone that construction work will commence over the summer break, marking the initial stages of building our new administration block, upgrading fire services, and improving the student toilets and playground.
During this time, the school site will be closed to the community, including access to the playgrounds, oval, and netball/basketball courts. We kindly ask that you remind your children of this closure to ensure their safety and to avoid any disruptions for the contractors working on-site. We will be closed from the 20th December until the 28th January.
Thank you for your understanding as we take this exciting step towards enhancing our school facilities.
The final assembly of the year will take place tomorrow commencing at 1.15 pm outside the front office area. All students will be dismissed at 1.30 pm from assembly.
Our students in Year 1 to Year 6 will commence school on Wednesday 29th January 2025 and we will welcome our 2025 Foundation students to school on Thursday 30th January 2025.
We want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our students, parents, and the entire HEPS community for making this another incredible year.
This year has been filled with memorable moments, including our whole school production, Colour Run and our four fantastic camps visiting Mt Evelyn Camp, Sovereign Hill, Ferngully Lodge and Waratah Bay. Other events included Harmony Day, the Cross Country and Athletics competition, Open Night for Education Week, and the opening of our brand-new dry creek bed which has been extremely popular. These events showcase the spirit, connection, and joy that make our school so special.
As we head into the holiday season, we wish you all a restful and refreshing break. We hope you take this time to relax, recharge, and enjoy quality moments with your loved ones. For those travelling, please stay safe and have a fantastic adventure.
We can’t wait to welcome you all back in 2025 for another exciting year of learning, growth, and new opportunities. Look out, 2025—we’re ready for you!
