Welcome Back to School!
Dear St. Mary’s Families,
Welcome to the start of an exciting new school year at St. Mary’s! It’s wonderful to see the smiles, energy, and enthusiasm of our students as they return to school. A special warm welcome to our Foundation students and any new families joining our community this year. We can’t wait to see all the great things your children will achieve as we journey together through 2025.
Our Core Values: Respect, Resilience and Responsibility
At St Mary’s, our core values guide everything we do. They help us to build a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for everyone in our community. Over the coming weeks, students will participate in activities that reinforce these core values. These values guide how we learn, play, and grow as a community.
Here’s how we show Respect, Resilience and Responsibility every day:
To support our efforts at school, we kindly ask you to continue reinforcing these values at home. When students see these values modeled and encouraged both at home and in the classroom, they develop a deeper understanding of their importance and are more likely to demonstrate them in their daily lives.
- Respect teaches children to value others, listen actively, and treat people with kindness.
- Responsibility helps them understand accountability for their actions, commitments, and learning.
- Resilience encourages them to face challenges with a positive mindset, learn from mistakes, and persist when things get tough.
By working together, we can create a strong foundation that supports your child’s personal and academic growth. Thank you for being our partners in nurturing these essential values.
Coming soon
We are excited to announce that our PBL Honour Board will begin in Week 4, celebrating students who demonstrate our core values of Respect, Resilience, and Responsibility.
Students are currently engaging in explicit lessons and modelling to understand what these values look like at St. Mary’s. We look forward to recognising their efforts and sharing our first Honour Roll soon! Stay tuned for upcoming student photos.
Helping Students Settle In
We understand that the start of a new school year can bring mixed emotions. Whether your child is adjusting to a new teacher, a new classroom, or starting school for the first time, here are some helpful strategies to support them:
- Establish a consistent morning and evening routine.
- Encourage open conversations about their day.
- Create a quiet space at home for reading and homework.

Attached are some photos showcasing our students settling into the school year. It’s great to see their enthusiasm and engagement as they navigate new classrooms and routines. A special mention goes to our Foundation students, who have made an impressive start to their school journey. Their eagerness to learn, adapt, and embrace new experiences has been truly inspiring!
Special Shout out to our Foundation Students
A very special welcome to our new Foundation students! We are so proud of how quickly they have settled into their new school routines and embraced life at St. Mary’s with enthusiasm and confidence.
It has been wonderful to see their excitement as they build friendships, explore their learning spaces, and engage with their teachers. Their curiosity, kindness, and eagerness to learn have already made a positive impact on our school community.
We look forward to watching them grow and thrive throughout the year. Welcome to the St. Mary’s family!
