Wellbeing

Wellbeing at OLSC
Wellbeing incorporates all aspects of school community life. It is lived in the everyday by developing healthy relationships with students, families and staff, to assist with building community.
This year we have two wellbeing leaders at OLSC. Kiah will be working with the Junior Learning Groups, Prep - Year 2 and Sandy with the Middle/Senior Learning Groups, Year 3 - Year 6. As Wellbeing Leaders we meet regularly & work together to support all students and families.
Feel free to email Sandy or Kiah or call the school office if you have any concerns or need help at any time.

Positive Behaviours for Learning
As the students settle back into the routines of school life & become acquainted with each other again we are explicitly teaching our expectations using our Positive Behaviours for Learning matrix. The aim is to make OLSC a safe & happy place for all. We have high expectations for all our students & use our Positive Behaviours for Learning matrix to help us all shine.
In Term 1 we are trialing a Visual PBL matrix for our Prep to Year 2 students.
The foci for the next couple of weeks are:
Respect
We use our manners
We use our inside voice
We line up and follow instructions
Responsibility
We keep our hands and our feet to ourselves
We take care of our belongings
We stay on task
These expectations will be explicitly taught during Wellbeing Hour & revisited throughout the week.
It would be great if you could also reinforce these expectations at home and ask your child/children how they are following these at school.
Sunsmart
We are all experiencing the long, hot summer we were promised. It is important that all students wear a hat when outside, this includes during PE lessons. Students who do not have a hat will be asked to stay in the shade. School hats are available from the uniform shop.
Cheers
Sandy & Kiah
