NAPLAN 2026: Celebrating Persistence, Achievement and Growth
Our Grade 3 and Grade 5 students have shown wonderful determination as they undertake their NAPLAN assessments this week. With Writing and Reading (Grade 3) now completed, students will soon move on to Conventions of Language and Numeracy.
This year also presented an unexpected challenge when connectivity issues interrupted the Grade 5 testing session on Wednesday. We were incredibly proud of the way our students handled the situation. They showed excellent adaptability, remained calm and positive, and took the disruption in their stride before successfully completing the assessment the following day. Their maturity and resilience were a wonderful example of the persistence we aim to develop in all learners.
At Lysterfield Primary School, we value the process of learning just as much as the outcomes. Our focus remains on helping students build strong knowledge, understanding and skills that extend far beyond NAPLAN. Through engaging, evidence-informed teaching approaches, we support students to develop confidence and capability as learners, even when tasks feel challenging.
We are incredibly proud of the way our students have approached these assessments with a positive mindset and a willingness to give their best. Thank you to our teachers for their careful preparation and support, and to our families for the encouragement they continue to provide at home. Together, we are fostering a school culture where persistence, adaptability, and growth are always celebrated.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Kristine Roose | Assistant Principal
