Celebrating effort, staying safe online, and looking ahead

This week, I would like to congratulate all students in Years 7–9 on the completion of NAPLAN. These assessments require focus, perseverance and a positive mindset, and our students approached them with maturity and effort. Well done to all involved, and thank you to staff for the calm and supportive way students were guided through the process.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind parents and carers of the importance of online safety and responsible social media use. We are seeing an increase in students engaging in group messages and online chats, which can sometimes escalate quickly and become challenging for young people to manage independently. While these platforms can support connection, they can also present difficulties around respectful communication, inclusion and wellbeing.

We strongly encourage parents to remain aware of how their child is using their phone and social media, to regularly check in on group chats, and to maintain open and supportive conversations at home. Your guidance and involvement play a critical role in helping students navigate online spaces safely, responsibly and in line with current social media laws and age‑related expectations. Working together, we can support our young people to develop healthy digital habits.

I would also like to sincerely thank the parents and carers who engaged in the Student Progress meetings on Thursday. We hope these conversations provided a valuable opportunity for you and your child to receive individual feedback on their learning progress so far this year. We greatly appreciate the time you take to partner with the school and support your child’s growth and development.

Finally, we wish our students in Years 8, 10, 11 and 12 all the very best as they prepare for their upcoming camps in Weeks 9 and 10. Camps provide valuable opportunities for connection, independence and personal growth, and we hope students gain meaningful experiences and lasting memories from their time away.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our students and our school community.

Senior School Play

Support Trinity students from Year 7-12, as they share their student-led re-imagining of Shakespeare’s much loved play, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.

On the eve of the Duke’s wedding, four Athenian teenagers run away to the forest while a group of tradespeople rehearse a play as part of the celebrations. Unknowingly, they wander into a feud between the fairy king and queen. In an attempt to trick the fairy queen, Puck makes both the teenage boys fall in love with the same girl and turns one of the tradespeople into a donkey and chaos ensues. In the end, the magic is reversed; the wedding goes ahead, the tradespeople perform their play, and the fairies offer blessings to them all, while the audience is left to consider if it was all a dream!
