🛶 Studley Park Boathouse - March 28th 🛶
Hi everyone! The social committee has made a reservation at Studley Park Boathouse on March 28th between the times of 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm.
The Social Committee is planning an afternoon at Studley Park Boathouse in Kew later this term. The plan is to meet up for a drink in the afternoon on Saturday March 28th, with the option to rent a rowboat, canoe or kayak for those that are interested on the day (boat rental info here - noting rates are per boat).
Please fill in this Google Form if you are interested in attending.
We look forward to seeing you there!
🔴 AEU UPDATE 🔴
24hr Stopwork Action
AEU members will be going ahead with a 24hr stopwork action planned on Tuesday, March 24th. As a reminder, this is a members only action.
A Stopwork Action sheet will have been passed around at Tuesday's PL. AEU reps need to notify their principals of all members intending to take action next Tuesday. If you are intending to take action in the stopwork action next week, please ensure that you have included your name on the sheet. It will need to be handed to Janet by 5pm on Friday March 20th.
A few bits of important info:
- No expectation to create a lesson plan or provide resources for the day.
- Those taking action will need to use code 538 - Strike when booking leave on Edupay.
- We will organise to meet up near the Victorian Trades Hall shortly before 10.30 in order to march together. The exact location will be communicated to you later this week. We may also organise an after march coffee/lunch if you are interested.
Future action
The result of the industrial action ballot showed that 98% of members were in favour of taking industrial action (actions including, but not limited to, not writing reports, not responding to DET emails, not attending meetings, striking).
This means that we have access to multiple actions however, we believe that the union will inform us when these will take place in order to encourage a unified front.
If you do decide to take action without authorisation, this could lead to disciplinary action. It is important to remember that we have duty of care of students.
