Student Punctuality to Class
Over recent weeks, we have been placing a renewed focus on student punctuality to class. Arriving on time is a simple but important habit that supports learning, wellbeing, and respect for others. When students are punctual, they are better prepared to engage with the lesson from the outset, avoid missing key instructions, and contribute positively to the classroom environment. It also helps to minimise disruption for both teachers and peers.
We are continuing to work with students at the College to reinforce expectations around moving promptly between classes, being organised, and taking responsibility for their time. This includes reminders during the day, follow-up conversations where needed, and support for students who may be finding this challenging. Developing these habits is an important part of building independence and accountability, which are key life skills beyond school.
We appreciate the support of families in reinforcing the importance of punctuality. Encouraging routines at home—such as being organised for the day ahead, arriving at school on time, and discussing the value of making a positive start to each lesson—can make a significant difference. As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if your child requires additional support in this area.
