Primary Leader's Report
I am pleased to report that the 2024 school year has gotten off to a smooth start in the Primary area. Our students have settled in well and are eager to learn and grow. As part of our commitment to providing the best education for your children, we have conducted assessments to understand where each student is in their learning journey. These assessments will help us tailor our teaching to meet the individual needs of each child.
I extend a warm welcome to our new families and hope that you are feeling connected with our school community. Please reach out if you have any questions and chat to your child’s teacher/s if there is anything you need. It was great to see many of you at our Meet the Teacher sessions last week. I encourage all parents/carers to read the class newsletter each term to keep up with the latest events and news for each class.
I am also excited to share that our year 1-6 students recently had a fantastic day at Yarra Swim School for our annual swimming carnival. The students enjoyed participating in swim races and engaging in various activities organised by the swim teachers. It was a fun-filled day that allowed our students to showcase their swimming skills and sportsmanship. I commend all the students on their willingness to participate in all the activities on offer to them. It is also evident that our swimming program in term 4 has improved many students’ confidence in the water.
We have our Twilight Sports & BBQ Night coming up on Thursday 14 March from 5pm. We encourage all our families to come along and join in a relaxed, social evening. The students are encouraged to participate in the sports activities and parents are also welcome to join in. There will be a barbecue run by the Macleod Parents and Friends group with hot food, snacks and drinks for sale. The teachers will be in attendance to run events and chat with parents also.
We will see the year 3 and 5 students participating in NAPLAN testing from 13 March this term and as always, we will support the students as they progress through the testing time. Also, don’t forget school photos will be taken on Tuesday 5 March. Please make sure your children are in full school uniform on this day.
We look forward to more exciting events and activities throughout the school year. Thank you for your continued support in helping us create a positive and enriching learning environment for your children.
