Dunlop

It has been a busy but exciting start to the year in Dunlop House. I would like to welcome all of our year 7 and other new students to our school and hope you are enjoying your time with us. I would also like to acknowledge our year 12 students who are embarking on their final year of secondary education and have been busy completing their first assessments.

We have a number of new staff joining us in Dunlop House this year.

We extend a warm welcome to Mr Marsh, Mr Zhang and Mr Moss. We are also excited to have Mr Ferres and Mr McDonald join us in Dunlop in 2024.

The Dunlop Leadership team is also looking different this year.

We now have three Assistant House Leaders, Mr Mapuranga, Mr Heenkenda and Ms Hellweg as well as myself, who have taken over the role of Dunlop House Leader from Mark Pasquali.

Dunlop performed strongly in the House Swimming competition early in the year, narrowly missing out on second place. The following students received individual awards at the carnival:

  • Girls 13 years champion – Sierra K
  • Girls 15 years champion – Kayleigh G
  • Girls 16 years champion – Jessica H
  • Girls 17 years champion – Amarli W
  • Boys 20 years champion – Sebastian P
  • Junior boys diving champion – Jackson F
  • Senior boys big splash champion – Samuel C

House Performing Arts was a massive success for the house where the student-led performance of Alice in Wonderland took out first place.

All the students involved in the production, from those on stage to those who have a role in the music composition and backstage, should be extremely proud of their efforts, as I know I am.

We are looking forward to the Athletics Carnival to finish the term and hopefully, more success can come Dunlop’s way!

External to the school, we have had students experience success in their different fields. Chloe B represented Victoria at the junior national track championships in Brisbane and Partaj D has been in New Zealand filming some commercials for the ANZ bank. Congratulations to both Chloe and Partaj, the Dunlop House is very proud of you and we hope you continue to shine.

We wish all of our students and families a happy and safe holiday break.
