Art Making and Exhibiting Excursion
On 1st March the Year 12 Art Making & Exhibiting class spent a day exploring Melbourne’s Arts Precinct.
The students visited two prominent art institutions, the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) and the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). ACCA’s exhibition "From the other side" explored themes of horror, challenging the traditional narratives and assumed boundaries of the body, gender, the self and the ‘other’.
Later after lunch at Southgate students viewed key artworks from NGV’s Triennial including the popular “Basia Spot” (an AI-enabled robot dog!). The weather was perfect and everyone had lots of fun!
