Visual Arts

Foundation students have been learning about colours and developing their fine motor skills in the Art Room.

Year 1 and 2 students have been learning about printing in Visual Arts. They created their own unique printing plates then pulled multiple prints using colourful paper.

Students in Years 3 and 4 have continued learning about art from different countries and cultures. This week they have looked at Venice and masks that are created there. Here is a picture of them using gelli plates to create their own colourful paper that will be used in a Venetian inspired artwork in the coming weeks.

Artists of the Month

Congratulations to our Artist of the Month recipients for the month of February, Timmy (2H) and Evie (4W). Timmy painted a Picasso inspired portrait and Evie painted a Ming Dynasty inspired vase and cherry blossom arrangement. Well done to both students!

Performing Arts

Students in Year 1 and 2 have continued learning about the musical elements, with a focus on Tempo (speed) and Dynamics (volume). They have participated in activities and games to reinforce these concepts and used the musical terms Presto & Largo and Forte & Piano to describe them in music they hear and create.

Students in Years 5 and 6 have been working on their own original rap songs and performing them in front of their classmates .
