YEAR 7 CAMP
The stunning coastal town of Anglesea provided the perfect backdrop for our new Year 7 students to immerse themselves into their first event for the year. Our young adventurers were able to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and school and connect with the natural world.
On Monday we had groups A, E and S and on Wednesday we swapped over with groups B, C and I. While it was a bit warm for the first group, all students were excited (mostly to find out who was in their cabin…) to get away from the classroom and into the activities!
Across both groups, students participated in various activities. They were challenged by high-ropes courses and climbing walls while they cooled off with surfing and kayaking. The camp was a fantastic opportunity for our students to strengthen friendships and build new connections within their class group. Through a series of team-building activities and group challenges, our Year 7 students learned the value of collaboration and the importance of supporting one another.
One of the highlights of the camp was witnessing the personal growth of our Year 7 students. Many of them stepped out of their comfort zones, faced challenges head-on, and discovered newfound strengths and capabilities. The camp encouraged independence and resilience, fostering a sense of self-confidence that will undoubtedly benefit them in their academic and personal journeys.
I would like to express my gratitude to the dedicated team of teachers and camp staff who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this camp both during and in the lead up. Their commitment to the well-being and growth of our students was evident throughout the entire experience!
I am very excited for the year ahead with this group. I look forward to more exciting adventures and shared accomplishments in the future!
